FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “EmpireCLS Increases its Green Fleet” May 3, 2007 Norwood, NJ (May 3, 2007) – EmpireCLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services increased its fleet of alternative fuel vehicles this week with the recent purchase of several Chevrolet Flex Fuel Suburbans. The move was part of the company’s green initiative to replace its existing nationwide fleet with environmentally friendly vehicles. “As our vehicles come up for renewal,” said Richard Doherty, EmpireCLS National Fleet Director, “we are replacing them with hybrid and other alternative fuel vehicles.” Already in use is the Lexus RX 400H Hybrid. Over the next several months further purchases will ensue, including the GMC Flex Fuel Yukons and Bio-Diesel fueled Mini-Coaches. Upgrading their fleet of sedans is still in the works as EmpireCLS continues to talk with Lincoln about a livery package for its Flex Fuel Lincoln Town Car. “EmpireCLS’ goal is to become a more environmentally conscious corporation,” said EmpireCLS Chairman and CEO David Seelinger. “We are mindful of the impact our vehicles have on the environment and we are committed to doing everything we can to reduce greenhouse gases.” Earlier this year, EmpireCLS moved to create a series of green initiatives that would eliminate and/or minimize those business practices which had an adverse effect on the earth’s natural resources. The company’s primary initiative was to increase the number of fuel efficient vehicles in its fleet. The incredible popularity and lackluster gas mileage of the SUV made it the most logical place to start. The flex fuel suburban runs on gasoline and E85 Ethanol, which uses a cleaner-burning fuel made from U.S. grown biomaterial such as corn and other grain products. The company, however, continues to investigate the market for fuel friendly vehicles which will best suit the needs of their clients, the environment, and alternative fuel availability. While hybrid vehicles have presented the best immediate option because they rely on an existing network of gasoline stations, flex fuel and bio-diesel fueled vehicles present better alternatives for the environment because they are powered by renewable energy sources. In addition to increasing the number of fuel efficient vehicles in its fleet, EmpireCLS has also moved to green its practices as a corporation through recycling, efficient energy use, paperless policies, carbon offsets, and green partnerships.
